Services Offered: Parents and professionals working together to increase public awareness and improve services statewide for individuals with autism. Services include: parent and professional phone help line, lending library for its members, hosts conferences and workshops, information on diagnosis, treatment, research, legislative updates, resources, and programs.

Services Offered: Early intervention services for children with significant developmental delays for children 0 to 3 years of age and their families. Multi-disciplinary evaluations to determine eligibility and multi-disciplinary assessments to determine service needs at no cost to families; service coordination at no cost to eligible families; services based on a child’s or family's needs such as assistive technology devices, auditory, family training and counseling, limited health services, medical diagnostic services, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychological services, social work services, special instruction, speech-language pathology, vision services and transportation services. Private insurance and Medicaid can be billed, and state funds are available to assist families based on a family’s ability to pay.

Services Offered: The Bedford School is a nine-month day program specifically designed to meet the needs of children with learning disabilities. Squirrel Hollow Camp, a remedial summer program of The Bedford School, serves children with academic needs due to learning difficulties. The program is for students of ages 6 to 16. Between 55 and 65 students attend the 5-week camp, which is held on the 47-acre campus of The Bedford School in Fairburn, GA. Campers participate in an individualized academic program as well as recreational activities.

Services Offered: Regular check-ups; immunizations; nutrition counseling; help getting WIC; medical, developmental, educational or social services; home visits to provide support and guidance in caring for your child; educational materials about health, development and parenting. 

Services Offered: Serving clients Pre- K to Adult. In Home, one-to-one tutoring services of all subjects for ages Pre-K to Adult. Tutors are certified teachers and degreed professionals. There are tutors on staff to provide services to students with special needs. Tutoring in foreign language instruction and test preparation are offered.

Services Offered: CORRAL is a non profit organization which provides horseback riding lessons for emotionally and physically handicapped children and adults. Our classes are comprised of students with a wide range of disabilities. We provide services to the Coweta County School System Special Education classes and any other individuals that qualify. It is through the volunteers and sponsors that CORRAL can offer these services free of charge. Sessions typically are once a week for six weeks.

Services Offered: Year round sports training and athletic competitions in a variety of Olympic type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Services Offered: Investigates child abuse; finds foster homes for abused and neglected children; helps low income, out-of-work parents get back on their feet; assists with childcare costs for low income parents who are working or in job training; and provides numerous support services and innovative programs to help troubled families.

Services Offered: Easter Seals North Georgia provides information and referral, physical, occupational, and speech therapy, child care, Head Start and teacher training.

Services Offered: Information/Referral, Advocacy, Training, Family support, Diagnostic evaluations and treatment recommendations, Psychiatric evaluation and medication monitoring, Walden Early Childhood Program, Monarch Program reading clinic, Collaboration with school systems, Support group for adolescents and adults with Asperger Syndrome, “Best Buddies” program provides social outings for young adults with autism.

Services Offered: Offers emotional, informational and physical support to families with children with disabilities or ongoing medical needs.  Summer camp also available.  Share Group on Southside meets 4th Thursday each month at 7pm, childcare available by reservation.

Services Offered: The primary mission of the Foundation is to advocate and provide funding for the unmet health care needs of medically fragile children. These children are medically stable yet require skilled nursing services, physical, speech and occupational therapy and specialized equipment to enhance or sustain their lives. They range in age from birth to eighteen years and suffer from Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Spina Bifida, cancer, heart and lung disease, developmental delays and any number of other conditions that threaten their ability to survive without proper medical care. We basically "fill in the gap" by providing critical services and equipment not covered by insurance.

Services Offered: Statewide Service Center for deaf, hard of hearing, late deafened and deaf-blind individuals. It provides services of advocacy, information & referral system and community education. Camp Juliena is a weeklong residential day camp for children. Media resources and other resources such as an identification card and assistive listening devices and equipment demonstration.

Services Offered: Provides training resources to educators and parents of students with disabilities. Offers a material center, autism programs, parent groups, resources for parents.

Services Offered: The goal of the Georgia Parent Mentor Program is to nurture communication among parents and educators, ultimately leading to greater success for students with disabilities. Parent mentors are moms and dads of one or more children with special learning and/or physical needs. They work within the school system by trying to build bridges between home and school. The parent initiative is spearheaded by the Department of Education’s Division for Exceptional Students.

Services Offered: Provides training and technical assistance to schools & child care centers, facilitates the use of assistive technology, assists in the assessment of children, needs to be referred by the Special Education Director from their county. Advises residents and schools in selecting appropriate technology for education & communication, conducts training throughout the state for teachers, lends assistive technology equipment for trial periods through the school. The service is free.

Services Offered: Parent organization has several programs including Good Shepherd Riding Academy, a center for equine assisted therapy, Able House, a long term residential facility for boys aged 10 to 17, Meriwether House, a short term assessment center, an independent living program, outdoor experiential learning program, and animal assisted therapy programs.

Services Offered: CAFI Head Start provides a comprehensive program serving 3 to 5 year old children from limited income families. The program focuses on the education, social, emotional, and physical needs of the children and their families. Ten percent of the enrollment is reserved for children with special needs. Medical and dental examinations, as well as follow-up treatments are provided. Many educational and pending training's are offered for parents which encourages strong parent involvement and participation. Services Offered: Facility and Home based respite care for non-medically fragile special needs children offered at no cost to families.  Available for children 0 - 21 years of age.

Services Offered: Private, non-profit school serving children ages two to fifteen who have mild to severe intellectual and/or physical disabilities or diagnosed developmental disabilities. The school provides intense educational training as well as speech and language therapy for its students. Limited scholarships are available.

Services Offered: Offers American karate mixed with sensory integration and other activities to help children overcome obstacles. Ages 6 years and up.

Services Offered: Nationally recognized center of excellence for the provision of comprehensive services for children and adolescents with developmental disabilities. Services offered range from comprehensive evaluation and diagnostic services to behavioral therapy, family counseling and long-term follow-up.

Services Offered: Respite care for kids aged 8 - 21.  Respite weekends provided for families with children with severe disabilities.  Medical staff on hand, as well as trained counselors for 24 hours.  One to one care. Weekend Fee: $50.00 per weekend. 

Services Offered: My Turn Now, Inc., is a not-for-profit advocacy organization which facilitates the adoption of children with special needs. These children are either members of a minority race, handicapped, over the age of eight, or members of sibling group that need to be adopted together. Maintains online photo listing of children available for adoption.

Services Offered: National database of agencies providing respite services.  Funded under CAPTA federal funds.

Services Offered: Parent to Parent provides support and information to parents of children with disabilities. Services include Special Needs Database - Search our online database containing over 4,000 resources. Emotional Support, One-to-One Parent Match, Parent to Parent Support Groups Parent Message Board, Reading Material on Your Child's Diagnosis, Hispanic Services and Support Groups, Additional Information On Early Intervention Programs (Public), Conferences, Workshops, & Special Events.

Services Offered: Mental health treatment and diagnosis for adults, teens and children. Appointments for in home therapy are available to Coweta residents as well. Staff members have a wide variety of specialties: individual therapy, trauma therapy for children, marriage counseling, ADHD and local resource referrals for special needs children.

Services Offered: Provides low-cost/no cost hippotherapy for students with a variety of physical and mental disabilities, including blindness, autism, spina bifida and Down syndrome.

Services Offered: Private respite provider for kids 0 - 11 years of age.

Services Offered: Internationally known comprehensive rehabilitation center dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve personal independence. Located in Warm Springs, Georgia on a beautiful and serene 940-acre campus, the Institute provides a wide range of medical, psychological and vocational rehabilitation programs and services for many types of disabilities.

Services Offered: Sensory learning techniques for adults and children with sensory developmental challenges such as Autism, ADHD/ADD, ABI, PDD, etc. Unites visual, auditory, and vestibular therapy in a multi-sensory approach to improve perception, understanding and enhance the ability to learn. This is a drug free program and Newnan is the only site in the state of GA.

Services Offered: Tools for Life increases access to appropriate assistive technology devices and assistive technology services for all Georgians with disabilities. The Tools for Life Assistive Technology Resource Centers (ATRCs) are "hands-on" learning centers for demonstration, education and evaluation of products available on the market today. They are also a resource for Georgians with disabilities, families, friends, health care professionals and other professionals who are interested in seeing, learning and experimenting with new and existing assistive technology devices and equipment.

Services Offered: Neuropsychological evaluations specializing in learning and processing problems.

Services Offered: This is a special nutrition program for low-income pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women and children up to age five. Participants who are eligible receive vouchers to redeem at approved grocery stores and pharmacies for special foods rich in protein, iron, calcium and vitamins A and C. Georgia has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the nation. Good nutrition and regular prenatal care during pregnancy, and good nutrition and preventive health care for infants are keys to prevent babies from dying or becoming disabled. The following requirements must be met:

*Be a resident of Georgia or migrant farm worker currently living in Georgia.
*Be at nutritional risk such as anemic, low birth weight, abnormal weight gain during pregnancy, high risk pregnancy, or inadequate diet.
*Have a family income of no more than 185 percent of the federal poverty level.
*A person receiving Medicaid, TANF, or Food Stamps automatically meets the income eligibility requirements.
