Services Offered: The Bedford School is a nine-month day program specifically designed to meet the needs of children with learning disabilities. Squirrel Hollow Camp, a remedial summer program of The Bedford School, serves children with academic needs due to learning difficulties. The program is for students of ages 6 to 16. Between 55 and 65 students attend the 5-week camp, which is held on the 47-acre campus of The Bedford School in Fairburn, GA. Campers participate in an individualized academic program as well as recreational activities.

Services Offered: The Coweta Performance Learning Center (PLC) provides an opportunity for students who are not successful in their traditional high school settings to attend a unique educational environment dedicated to helping them catch up to their classmates and graduate with them. There are a limited number of students accepted into this program.

Services Offered: Provides supervision, detention and a wide range of treatment and educational services for youths referred to the Department by the Juvenile Courts, and provides assistance or delinquency prevention services for at-risk youths through collaborative efforts with other public, private and community entities.

Services Offered: Provides training resources to educators and parents of students with disabilities. Offers a material center, autism programs, parent groups, resources for parents.

Services Offered: Provides mentors for students in 25 schools (elementary, middle and high schools) in the Coweta County School System. Volunteers are trained through Communities in Schools.

Services Offered: The goal of the Georgia Parent Mentor Program is to nurture communication among parents and educators, ultimately leading to greater success for students with disabilities. Parent mentors are moms and dads of one or more children with special learning and/or physical needs. They work within the school system by trying to build bridges between home and school. The parent initiative is spearheaded by the Department of Education’s Division for Exceptional Students.

Services Offered: Provides training and technical assistance to schools & child care centers, facilitates the use of assistive technology, assists in the assessment of children, needs to be referred by the Special Education Director from their county. Advises residents and schools in selecting appropriate technology for education & communication, conducts training throughout the state for teachers, lends assistive technology equipment for trial periods through the school. The service is free.

Services Offered: Girls Scouts of the USA is the world's largest organization dedicated to helping all girls everywhere build character and gain skills for success in the real world.  In an accepting and nurturing environment, and in partnership with committed adult volunteers, girls develop strong values, leadership skills, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth that will serve them all their lives.

Services Offered: CAFI Head Start provides a comprehensive program serving 3 to 5 year old children from limited income families. The program focuses on the education, social, emotional, and physical needs of the children and their families. Ten percent of the enrollment is reserved for children with special needs. Medical and dental examinations, as well as follow-up treatments are provided. Many educational and pending training's are offered for parents which encourages strong parent involvement and participation. Services Offered: Private, non-profit school serving children ages two to fifteen who have mild to severe intellectual and/or physical disabilities or diagnosed developmental disabilities. The school provides intense educational training as well as speech and language therapy for its students. Limited scholarships are available.

Services Offered: New Connections to Work is a comprehensive training and employment program, which provides student support services and preparation for increased access to technical colleges and employment. This program eliminates barriers to opportunity and promotes economic self-sufficiency for single parents, displaced homemakers, single pregnant women, and TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) recipients. The goal of the New Connections to Work Program is to provide training and to move persons from welfare recipients status to successful employment.

Services Offered: Odyssey School is the first state-approved charter school in Georgia. Our school is located in Newnan, Georgia, housed in a 10,000 square foot facility off Georgia Highway 34, we are convenient to Interstate 85 as well as major housing communities like Summer Grove and White Oak. A public school of choice, Odyssey opened in August 2004 with approximately 120 students, serving grades K-5. Services Offered: PASSport to Success is a training program developed for parents to help their children develop a positive attitude toward learning and produce a productive home learning environment. You will learn ways to help your child manage time, listen, concentrate, manage homework, prepare for tests, and improve thinking and reading skills. From your efforts at home, your child's study habits will improve and so should grades and test scores.

Shenandoah GYSTC
Georgia Youth Science & Technology Center

Services Offered: Shenandoah GYSTC serves 15,000 students, pre-K through grade 6, each year with the student fieldtrips, science camps, and family science nights and continues to provide staff development opportunities to hundreds of teachers each year in workshops and courses.

Services Offered: Through research, education, and training, the RCI promotes the mental health and well-being of individuals, families, and professional caregivers; promulgates effective caregiving practices; builds public awareness of caregiving needs; and advances public and social policies that enhance caring communities. These goals are met by forming partnerships with professionals, groups, and individuals to deliver education and training programs, research and program evaluation around care needs, and policy and advocacy efforts that promote healthy individual development and increase community caregiving capacity. Unique to the Institute are its focus on generic caregiving that pertains to all caregivers across various illnesses and disabilities; incorporation of both lay and professional points of view; and collaboration among front line caregivers, academicians, and students to improve the caregiving process.

Services Offered: A program of the Coweta Community Foundation that is a hospital-based early intervention effort focusing on educating new parents on the importance of early childhood development and school readiness.

Services Offered: West Central serves both high school and adult students in credit and non-credit programs. The TechSTART calendar mirrors the high school schedule and is geared toward 16-18 year-old students who are dually-enrolled in both high school and technical college courses. Adult students can enroll in TechSTART programs on a space-available basis. In addition, technical college courses are offered on the traditional quarter schedule both day and evenings.

Types of program offerings at CEC include Basic Dental Assisting, Computer Repair Technician, Machine Tool Technology, Welding, Computer Aided Drafting, and Patient Care Assisting.

Services Offered: The Middle School Alternative Program and the High School Alternative Program serve students who have been sent to the Academy to correct problems which prevent them remaining at their base schools. The WDA alternative programs are designed to encourage academic and social growth in order to transition these students successfully back to their base schools.

Services Offered: The mission of W. O. E. is to provide temporary housing for formerly incarcerated women and their children upon release. W.O.E. will provide women with the tools needed to address the issues that led to their incarceration. This re-entry program will provide substance abuse treatment service, childcare services, budget and financial management, life skills, vocational and educational services, counseling service and appropriate referrals when needed.
