Services Offered: ACS is dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy and service. It provides assistance to individuals with diagnosed cancer whose physician approves treatment and service. Services include assistance with transportation to treatment and purchase of pain medication and supplies for cancer patients. Educational materials are available. Relay for Life is an annual fund raising event to raise money for services provided to and raise the awareness of the work of ACS.

Services Offered: This program funds diagnosis and treatment for medically indigent cancer patients. The state assists with hospital costs and physicians volunteer their services for this program. Applications are available at the Family and Children Services, Health Department and from the American Cancer Society by calling 1-800-227-2345. Eligible patients must be a U.S. Citizen, lawfully admitted alien, a Georgia resident. Financial & medical guidelines must be met.

Services Offered: Regular check-ups; immunizations; nutrition counseling; help getting WIC; medical, developmental, educational or social services; home visits to provide support and guidance in caring for your child; educational materials about health, development and parenting. 

Services Offered: Case management and limited financial aide to families of children with special medical needs to assist them in obtaining medical care.  Examples: evaluation and treatment by specialists, medication, supplies and equipment that is not fully covered by insurances.

Services Offered: A nonprofit organization of 40 volunteers who provide an airway ambulance service for sick or injured patients who require air travel within a 1000 mile radius of the Griffin/Spalding area.

Services Offered: Case Management Program to assist low income and elderly persons and families through the Community Services Block Grant Program through collaborative efforts, assistance can be provided in obtaining Social Security, Medicare, Health Care, Public Assistance, Food Stamps, and Emergency Assistance. The staff can also assist families in locating affordable housing. Employment and training assistance through a Job Search Program is also provided to individuals. Low-Income Weatherization Assistance Program. CAFI Head Start serving 3 to 5 year old children.

Services Offered: Offers immunizations, hearing & vision & dental exams and certificates for school, pregnancy tests, presumptive eligibility for Medicaid, prenatal case management and pregnancy related services, family planning services, STD/HIV testing, WIC, Children's 1st, High Risk infant follow-up.

Services Offered: Maternity services, free pregnancy testing, counseling for pregnancy, teen pregnancy program, adoption referral services, education programs, sex education, nutrition, parenting classes, limited ultra sound when medically indicated, maternity clothing, baby items.

Services Offered: In-home hospice care for individuals at the end of life; nursing services; certified nurse assistants; durable medical equipment; prescriptions; bereavement counseling; social worker; appropriate therapies for palliative care.

Services Offered: Investigates child abuse; finds foster homes for abused and neglected children; helps low income, out-of-work parents get back on their feet; assists with childcare costs for low income parents who are working or in job training; and provides numerous support services and innovative programs to help troubled families.

Services Offered: Easter Seals North Georgia provides information and referral, physical, occupational, and speech therapy, child care, Head Start and teacher training.

Services Offered: For expectant teens and young women needing out of home care during their pregnancy through age 24.The expectant mothers are provided with an excellent program that offers opportunities to continue their education, learn parental skills, develop social skills and participate in spiritual development and private therapy. Clients attend classes in decision making, childbirth, infant care and anger management. Local doctors and hospitals provide professional prenatal and postnatal care.

Services Offered: The primary mission of the Foundation is to advocate and provide funding for the unmet health care needs of medically fragile children. These children are medically stable yet require skilled nursing services, physical, speech and occupational therapy and specialized equipment to enhance or sustain their lives. They range in age from birth to eighteen years and suffer from Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Spina Bifida, cancer, heart and lung disease, developmental delays and any number of other conditions that threaten their ability to survive without proper medical care. We basically "fill in the gap" by providing critical services and equipment not covered by insurance.

Services Offered: Statewide Service Center for deaf, hard of hearing, late deafened and deaf-blind individuals. It provides services of advocacy, information & referral system and community education. Camp Juliena is a weeklong residential day camp for children. Media resources and other resources such as an identification card and assistive listening devices and equipment demonstration.

Services Offered: Georgia Partnership for Caring Foundation (GPCF) is a private, non-profit organization comprised of health care providers who donate their time and products to provide non-emergency health care services for Georgia's low-income uninsured persons who are living below the federal poverty level.

Services Offered: Nationally recognized center of excellence for the provision of comprehensive services for children and adolescents with developmental disabilities. Services offered range from comprehensive evaluation and diagnostic services to behavioral therapy, family counseling and long-term follow-up.

Services Offered: Respite care for kids aged 8 - 21.  Respite weekends provided for families with children with severe disabilities.  Medical staff on hand, as well as trained counselors for 24 hours.  One to one care. Weekend Fee: $50.00 per weekend.

Services Offered: Mental health treatment and diagnosis for adults, teens and children. Appointments for in home therapy are available to Coweta residents as well. Staff members have a wide variety of specialties: individual therapy, trauma therapy for children, marriage counseling, ADHD and local resource referrals for special needs children.

Services Offered: The RSM program provides Medicaid coverage for pregnant women and children under the age of 19. Income limits are higher than those of the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) and Medically Needy programs. The application process is fast and easy. There is no assets test. Services Offered: Internationally known comprehensive rehabilitation center dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve personal independence. Located in Warm Springs, Georgia on a beautiful and serene 940-acre campus, the Institute provides a wide range of medical, psychological and vocational rehabilitation programs and services for many types of disabilities.

Services Offered: Safe Place for Newborns exists to prevent the abandonment of newborn children, thus helping to preserve the health and future of their mothers. Safe Place for Newborns provides an alternative to a mother who might otherwise abandon her newborn. You can leave your baby, up to 7 days old, with a hospital employee at any hospital emergency room, or with any law enforcement agency in Georgia - no questions asked.

Services Offered: Eye care services at no charge to qualifying students. Includes an eye exam and glasses if needed. Referrals made through school nurse or teacher in home school.

Services Offered: Sensory learning techniques for adults and children with sensory developmental challenges such as Autism, ADHD/ADD, ABI, PDD, etc. Unites visual, auditory, and vestibular therapy in a multi-sensory approach to improve perception, understanding and enhance the ability to learn. This is a drug free program and Newnan is the only site in the state of GA.

Services Offered: Medical care for youth aged 10-19. Abstinence education, resource library, family planning, STD evaluation and treatment.

Services Offered: Tools for Life increases access to appropriate assistive technology devices and assistive technology services for all Georgians with disabilities. The Tools for Life Assistive Technology Resource Centers (ATRCs) are "hands-on" learning centers for demonstration, education and evaluation of products available on the market today. They are also a resource for Georgians with disabilities, families, friends, health care professionals and other professionals who are interested in seeing, learning and experimenting with new and existing assistive technology devices and equipment.

Services Offered: Provides a wide range of services to help individuals with disabilities prepare for meaningful work: Counseling and Guidance, Training, College and University Instruction, On-the-Job Training, Vocational and Technical Training, Supported Employment, School to Work Transition, Job Coaching, Physical and Mental Restoration Services, Assistive Technology, Referral to Other Agencies As Needed. Also provides assistance to employers: Accessibility Assessments, Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) Consultations, Disability Awareness Training, Job Analysis, Job Accommodation/Modification, Pre-screened/Qualified Applicants, Assistive Work Technology, Support Services.

Services Offered: Neuropsychological evaluations specializing in learning and processing problems.

Services Offered: This is a special nutrition program for low-income pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women and children up to age five. Participants who are eligible receive vouchers to redeem at approved grocery stores and pharmacies for special foods rich in protein, iron, calcium and vitamins A and C. Georgia has one of the highest infant mortality rates in the nation. Good nutrition and regular prenatal care during pregnancy, and good nutrition and preventive health care for infants are keys to prevent babies from dying or becoming disabled. The following requirements must be met:

*Be a resident of Georgia or migrant farm worker currently living in Georgia.
*Be at nutritional risk such as anemic, low birth weight, abnormal weight gain during pregnancy, high risk pregnancy, or inadequate diet.
*Have a family income of no more than 185 percent of the federal poverty level.
*A person receiving Medicaid, TANF, or Food Stamps automatically meets the income eligibility requirements.
